Event Details

In today’s rapidly evolving risk environment, Nursing Facilities must be ready to respond swiftly and effectively to a wide range of emergencies—from natural disasters and human-caused incidents to technological failures. When emergencies strike, routine operations can be overwhelmed in moments, making a strong, well-designed emergency management program essential to protecting residents, staff, and visitors while sustaining critical services.

This program, led by Kenneth Daily, Life Safety and Emergency Preparedness Specialist, focuses on building a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness Plan using an all-hazards approach grounded in realistic risk assessment and facility capabilities. Participants will gain a clear, practical understanding of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness requirements and how to confidently align their plans with regulatory expectations.

Key topics include:

Developing reliable internal and external communication systems

Strategic resource management for staffing, equipment, and supplies

Designing effective training, testing, and exercise programs that strengthen staff readiness

Using drills and evaluations to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement

Kenn will share proven best practices and actionable guidance for developing, maintaining, and updating emergency management plans that work in real-world conditions. The session also highlights the vital role of facility leadership in fostering coordination, innovation, and adaptability across disciplines.

This program offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen compliance, enhance operational resilience, and ensure your facility is truly prepared to meet the challenges of future emergencies with confidence.
